Apple is developing a dedicated artificial intelligence chip that will power AI related actions on mobile devices, according to a report from Bloomberg. An anonymous source told the publication that the chip which could be dubbed as Apple Neural Engine, will assist in functions such as computer vision, speech recognition, facial recognition, and other forms of artificial intelligence.

Google Assistant is now available on the iPhone

Apple reports $52.9 billion revenue in FY Q2 2017, record double digit revenue growth in India
Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $52.9 billion with a net profit of $11.0 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q2 2017 that ended April 1, 2017. Revenues were up 4.54% year-over-year. Apple reported quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.10 compared to diluted share of $1.90 in the year-ago quarter. During earnings call Tim Cook said that iPhone sales were line in line with their expectations, and they are seeing continued strong demand for iPhone 7 Plus. He also said that active installed base of iPhones grew by double digits year over year.
Apple stops paying iPhone royalties to Qualcomm
Apple is withholding payments to contract manufacturers that are owed to Qualcomm until the legal dispute between the two companies is resolved. As a result, Qualcomm has slashed its current-quarter profit and revenue forecasts. The company has lowered its revenue guidance to a range of $4.8 billion to $5.6 billion for the fiscal third quarter from $5.3 billion to $6.1 billion.
