Nokia has been a big player in the mobile NFC space, starting development long before Google seen the light. But for Nokia, it's not all about mobile wallets. They have recently a range of accessories with NFC built-in, designed to make pairing easier. The Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset is one of them, and I have recently had the opportunity to play with them at Nokia World 2011.
The Nokia Luna Bluetooth Headset features the most unlikeliest design of Bluetooth headset I have seen in many years, if ever. The Luna actually consists of two separate module: the cradle and the Bluetooth headset itself that docks in it when not in used. The cradle weighs in at 18g and the petite headset at a lightweight 5g. Charging is via the cradle, via a microUSB port.
Using the Luna was simple enough. I was given a demo Nokia N9 handset, which has a NFC chipset built-in. Pairing the Luna was as easily as tapping the top of the N9 onto the bottom of the Luna's cradle itself. It could not get any simpler than that. Once the phone and headset has been paired (I was told the Luna can be paired with two phones ...

Jabra is well known for its bluetooth audio systems. Recently the brand launched a new car hands free system dubbed the Freeway. We've had a chance to put it through its paces over the past few days. The Jabra Freeway is one of those gadgets which you don't realize that you need till you actually use it. The speaker system is on the larger side but never feels obtrusive. The understated design definitely helps in this regard.
Some of the unique features of the Jabra Freeway are :
Rich and crisp sound with 3 speakers and Virtual Surround sound
Use your voice to make and take calls completely hands-free
Announces the name of the incoming caller
Voice Guidance gives spoken battery level, paring instructions and connection status
Multiuse - Connects to 2 Bluetooth devices at the same time
A2DP streaming for playback of music, podcasts and directions from GPS applications
Up to 14 hours talk time and up to 40 days standby time
The front of the Freeway has four hard buttons which give very good tactile feedback. This is imperative as buyers will be using this device in their cars while driving and the buttons must have a reassuring feel.
The clip connecting the Freeway to the visor is ...

I have always been a fan of Jabra Products, ever since i tried one of their headsets a few years ago. Just recently i got in touch with them about testing some of their products, and i was pleasantly surprised that the people at Jabra and Namu-PR are a very nice bunch. I laid my eyes on the Jabra Cruiser 2, a hands-free solution for every mobile phone that supports Bluetooth. A big thank you to Namu-PR for that!
The Cruiser 2 is a clip-on style hands-free speaker set, coming in a very nice black. On the front you have one giant call button, which serves to answer calls, as well as having multiple options like connect your new phone or switch between incoming calls. Left and right, are the volume keys. Underneath the Vol.+ key are illuminated indicators, which give you information about call, battery, connectivity and radio. Dominating the front is the big speaker, which is loud enough even if you drive faster!
On the back sits a nice metal clip for the sun visor. I have tried and tested it numerous times and the clip never felt like it would come off at any time. Very good build quality ...

It's like watching a Charlie Chaplin movie, I swear, people move, coffee machines go on and off, lips open and close, chairs are pulled away and back, and I don't hear any of it. I'm not deaf, I just have the Nokia BH-905i headphones on, and I'm loving every second of it. They're a review unit and I swear, this is the first time I feel that I don't want to send a review unit back.
The BH-905i were announced during Nokia World 2010, back in September 2010, as a follow-up to the majestic Noise Cancelling Stereo Bluetooth headset that was the Nokia BH-905, and in this review, I will try to see how they measure up in comparison to their predecessors, as well as on their own.
Headphone Tour
If you've had the BH-905 in your hands, the BH-905i will make you feel right at home. The BH-905i exude charm and superior build the moment you hold them. They're made from sturdy plastics, metal and high quality padding.

I'm sure you have already seen quite a lot of the Nokia N8's Features. I managed to get my hands on it again, and to be honest, the release date can't come soon enough. Top Notch hardware, phenomenal camera unit and a very noticable faster Symbian^3 made up for a great hands-on experience. Obviously, i won't talk much into the Software yet, since this is all in proto status. But trust me, its a lot faster than all other phones before. Symbian and Nokia show us with the N8 what is poossible without any high-end specs, which is a great thing.
One thing that also comes as a first on the N8 is the Ability to connect Bluetooth Input Devices to the Phone - and work with it!! In our Case, me and Christoph (from Nokia Austria, thanks again) have used a Logitech Bluetooth Mouse and good ol' Nokia SU-8W, a Bluetooth Keyboard. How its done? it's as simple as connecting a BT Headset, enter Bluetooth Menu, search for input devices, choose, enter the 4-digit-code, done. Once the Mouse is connected, there is a small Mouse Pointer visible, and there you go. You can even use the right mouse button to ...

Bluetooth is a technology that has revolutionized the way we use our electronics. It's major use comes in mobile phones where we use it to send/receive data, listen to music wirelessly etc.
Almost all new mobiles released have bluetooth functionality even some low end phones. This shows the extent of the usability of it. It can be said as a universally accepted mode of short distance data transfer.
Bluetooth 2.0 has been the standard for most mobile phones for some years. Now we saw the announcement of mobile phones with Bluetooth 3.0. But with today's rate of technological progress, it comes as no surprise to see the announcement of Bluetooth 4.0.
It is said to cover an area of 200 feet or approximately 66 meters. it is also said to significantly reduce the power consumption of a device.
Bluetooth 4.0 should start coming out in devices by the end of 2010 starting with high-end devices. Mass market incorporating should be achieved through next year.
Developers also believe that Bluetooth will soon start to replace IR (infrared) as the standard for remote controls etc.

How will you react when you see your Mac is been used by someone, when you went to pay the bill or to toilet in a coffee shop, yes this will really frustrate you and for corporates it is like peeing on your bosses trousers. So you always have a option to set your Mac to ask you password after little inactivity, but what happens when you forget your own password, the answer is you are fired.
What is it all about?
Airlock is developed my M.H.A. Airlock allows your Mac to lock itself, plain and simple. Using your iPhone or iPod Touch, Bluetooth, Airlock determines whether you're near your computer. When you leave the room - poof! - your Mac locks itself. “And when you come back?” You guessed it: your Mac unlocks. You can also customize Airlock to perform specific actions as you come and go - have your computer talk to you, log-in or out of iChat, open any App and such.
Setting it up
Download Airlock and install it, see it in System Preference
Switch on bluetooth on both Mac and on iPhone/iPod touch, bang!!! then it is ready up right there to serve your Mac.
Is it any good
Well it depends ...

Nokia's recently announced X6 music device might have failed to gain a lot of attention at Nokia World 2009, due to the spectacular success of the Nokia N900, and its limited availability with Comes With Music service, but it still is a great solution for those who want a nice capactive touchscreen, S60 5th Edition, and 32GBs of built-in memory. The X6 also has a GPS receiver, a good 5MP camera, a nice interactive homescreen with contacts, applications, email and calendar showing up, kinetic scrolling widely implemented, HSDPA internet speeds...
Here are some comparison pictures next to its oldest sibling, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, showing that the X6 is a bit longer but the same width, and much thinner. Both devices have the same connectors and keys at the same locations in all sides, except for the X6 not having an external microSDHC port due to its already integrated 32GB memory. The X6 also doesn't come with any stylus, since its capacitive touchscreen doesn't function with styluses, but only with finger touches.
Following, are a couple more pictures of the X6 with Nokia's newly announced around-the-neck BH-505 bluetooth headset. You can clearly see that both of these gadgets have a very similar ...

I personally love the tilt angle of the screen on the N97. Its perfect for reading tweets and messages when you are at work. But one problem with typing on the N97 ( until the v2.0 software update coming out soon) is the requirement to press two keys to get number entered. I ve been spoilt by QWERTY phones like the E71 and Blackberries , so I have never been a huge fan of T9 mode.
So i decided to test the my lovely Apple wireless keyboard with the Nokia N97 and the great news is that it Works !
Imagine the power of a computer keyboard on a phone ! My word count on the N97 hit an all time high and I could literally type a whole bunch of stuff really fast . Next time , we live-blog or tweet from any event , expect us to carry this lethal combination. The phone detects the keyboard out of the box but to get pairing working you need to install this application from Official Application from Nokia Website http://bit.ly/n97wkbd
It’s actually an old application and does not support the N97 officially. ( you might get a device not supported kind of error ...

We have all in the past heard about the flagship phones from Nokia and all of those have been covered here on Fonearena but about two and a half months ago Nokia had announced a new stereo bluetooth headset-The BH-905. Nokia had called this headset a Flagship headset. So to check out what makes this headset different from their earlier products that this has been given the flagship status we checked out the product sites and thought to share this with you as BH-905 can be a great accessory with your mobile phone or that matter any portable device having A2DP bluetooth support or a 3.5mm plugin jack.

The headset is high on active noise cancellation technology so much so that Nokia call themselves the technology leaders, the first company in the world to bring this technology to the consumers. So how is the Noise cancellation technology in this product different from other products in the market?? well the very same question arose in my mind and here's how it ...
