Samsung introduces BRITECELL camera technology

Samsung introduced the first 16MP camera sensor with 1.0 micron pixels for smartphones back in July. The sensor is just 5mm high, about 20 percent thinner than current 1.12 micron-pixel based 16MP sensors, hence it has minimal camera protrusion without compromising on resolution. At the Samsung Electronics 2015 Investors Forum earlier this week, it introduced (Via) new BRITECELL or Bright cell technology, which replaces traditional green pixel in the RGB, a value pattern with a white pixel to create RWB for brighter images even in low lighting conditions. HTC One M9s with 5-inch 1080p display, Helio X10 SoC, metal body announced

HTC has introduced One M9s in Taiwan, which is the version of One M9e that was introduced last month in China. It packs a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an 2.2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense UI on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS) and an UltraPixel front-facing camera. It has dual front-facing BoomSound speakers and Dolby Audio. Google slashes minimum purchase price on Play Store for South East Asia

Back in July, Google had announced that they will be reducing the minimum purchase price on the Play Store to Rs 10 in India if the developer chooses to do so. Now, Google is making similar changes to the Play Store across parts of South East Asia as well.

NVIDIA introduced SHIELD tablet last year starting at $299, but it went out of stock on NVIDIA ‘s website shortly after the company recalled some units in late July this year for posing a fire hazard due to overheating batteries. Today it has released an updated version of the tablet as SHIELD tablet K1 with minor changes that includes, silicon grips that will make it easier to hold and of course a new battery, just in time for the holidays. Google Chromebit compact Chrome OS stick announced for $85

Google introduced Asus-made Chromebit dongle, a compact stick running Chrome OS back in April. Today Asus and Google have launched the Chromebit. It plugs directly into the HDMI port on a TV or monitor to turn it into a desktop PC offering 1080p output. It has a fan-less design, but if it gets too hot (over 35-degrees), Chromebit will shut down automatically to prevent overheating, according to Asus. OnePlus introduced two extended service plans for the OnePlus 2 smartphone in India last month, but the plans had a restriction that they need to be purchased within 30 days and 10 days, respectively after the purchase of the OnePlus 2. Microsoft delays Project Astoria, emulation tool to port Android apps to Windows

Microsoft announced its plans to launch tools for developers to quickly port Android and iOS apps to Windows 10 earlier this April. The tool for porting Android apps is called Project Astoria and the iOS porting tool is called Project Islandwood. The company did not launch Astoria publicly even months after the announcement. Now there are reports from Re/code and Windows Central saying that Project Astoria is on hold indefinitely, and maybe even shelved completely, but Microsoft doesn’t want to talk about it now, saying that Astoria bridge is not ready yet.
