Worldwide smartphone shipments will grow 9.8% in 2015: Report

2015 will be the first full year of single-digit worldwide smartphone growth, according to a latest forecast from IDC. The research firm has predicted that worldwide smartphone shipments will grow 9.8% in 2015 to a total of 1.43 billion units.

It has a 5-inch HD display, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Emotion UI 3.1 Lite, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the Enjoy 5, but this is powered by a faster 1.5 octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753T processor, has 7.6mm slim full metal unibody design and also comes with a fingerprint sensor. Samsung agrees to pay Apple $548M over patent lawsuit

The San Jose federal court has ordered Samsung to pay Apple $548M for infringing company’s smartphone patents. Started in 2011, the patent war is still not over as next year, the court will decide if Apple deserves more damages.

Apple releases open source Swift for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS

Apple has released open source Swift programming language, as it promised at the WWDC earlier this year. It is available for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. YU YUPHORIA Cyanogen OS 12.1 update to roll out starting from today

YU started rolling out Cyanogen OS 12.1 update based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) for its YUREKA and YUREKA PLUS smartphones last month. Facebook has announced that it has started rolling out new live video feature on their iPhone app. This will allow you to share a live feed from the phone’s camera by tapping the Update Status and selecting the Live Video icon. Live video will be available for a small percentage of iPhone users in the US initially before rolling out globally and other platforms, said the company. This new feature will take on Twitter’s Periscope that is available Android, iOS and more recently Apple TV. Global wearables market soars 197.6% in Q3 2015: Report

The worldwide wearables market grew 197.6% in Q3 2015, according to the latest report from IDC. The total shipment volume for the quarter came to 21.0 million units up from the 7.1 million units shipped in Q3 2014.
