A report from earlier this year said that Google will release two Nexus devices this year, both made by HTC. Now @evleaks has said that those two smartphones are called M1 and S1 internally. Android Police further states that HTC’s internal model numbers are probably based upon the codenames Marlin and Sailfish, named after aquatic life. Worldwide smartphone shipment growth fell flat for first time and this is the smallest year-over-year growth on record. According to a report from IDC, vendors shipped a total of 334.9 million smartphones worldwide in the first quarter of 2016 (1Q16), up slightly from the 334.3 million units in 1Q15.

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q1 2016, in which the company has made operating profit of 6.68 trillion won ($5.81 billion) for the quarter that ended March 31, 2016, which is up 12% YoY. It reported revenues of 49.78 trillion won ($43.46 billion), up 5.7% year-on-year and net profit of 5.25 trillion won (US$ 2.7 billion), up 14% year-on-year. MediaTek officially unveiled its Helio X20 deca (10) core SoC in May last year, which is being used in several smartphones. Details about the Helio X30, another deca-core SoC surfaced few months back, which said that the phone will use 16nm FinFET process technology, now Chinese electronics industry analyst Pan Jiutang has revealed the it will use 10nm FinFET process technology, similar to upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 SoC.
