Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 14nm Octa-Core SoC, 435 and 425 with LTE announced

Qualcomm today introduced three new SoCs – Snapdragon 625, Snapdragon 435 and Snapdragon 425. The Snapdragon 625 is an Octa-Core SoC, which is first in its class of Snapdragon processors to use 14 nm FinFET technology. It also has an integrated X9 LTE modem. The Snapdragon 435 is also an Octa-Core SoC, but this is based on 28nm process technology. It has an integrated X8 LTE modem. Alto’s Adventure, an endless snowboarding game has finally launched on Android, almost a year after launching on iOS. The game is free, but has in-app purchases for bonuses or if you want to support the developers. The core mechanic of the game centers around an easy to learn, difficult to master one button trick system that allows you to chain together increasingly more elaborate trick combos to maximize the players speed and compete for high scores and distances. Lava A88, A71 and X11 budget 4G smartphones launched starting at Rs. 5499

Lava International has launched A88, A71 and X11 three new 4G smartphones. The Lava A71 went on sale online earlier this week. The Lava A88 has a 5-inch FWVGA screen, while the A71 and X11 smartphones have a 5-inch HD display with  Corning Gorilla Glass protection. All these phones run on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), but Lava is promising upgrade to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) for A71 and A88. These smartphones come with dual SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity with both TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz) and FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) for India.

Intex has launched FitRist, the company’s first fitness smart band, few months after launching its iRist smartwatch. The FitRist tracker has a 0.86-inch OLED display, uses Bluetooth to pair with Android or iPhone, lets you track steps, distance traveled, calories burnt and monitor quality of sleep. It also offers notifications for incoming calls, control music and use it as a remote shutter for the phone’s camera. Spigen officially teases LG G5 case, shows off dual rear cameras and fingerprint sensor

After the LG G5 Rugged Armor case surfaced on Amazon listing few days back, popular case maker Spigen today confirmed it on official channels. The rugged case confirms dual cameras, flash, laser auto focus and fingerprint sensor on the back. Volume rockers have been moved to the left side of the phone, unlike rear buttons on earlier LG G series smartphones.

Vodafone launches 4G LTE services in Bengaluru

Vodafone has launched its 4G LTE services in Bengaluru, as it announced yesterday, after launching it in Kerala, Mysore, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR and Mumbai. It will first roll out in business and residential corridors such as Jayanagar, Basavangudi, JP Nagar, Electronic City, Bangalore International Airport, Whitefield, BTM. Gionee already confirmed that it will introduce its flagship S8 smartphone with pressure-sensitive display at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 22nd. After appearing on Geekbench recently, the smartphone has appeared on GFXBench (Via), revealing several specifications of the flagship that includes a 4.6-inch (5-inch likely) 1080p display, Helio P10 Octa-Core SoC, 4GB of RAM, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo UI, 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 4K video recording and more. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

Airtel has commercially launched its 4G LTE services in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, after successfully launching 4G in Shimla and Baddi in the state. It launched 4G services in 296 towns across India back in August last year. Airtel 4G is available to customers across mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and Wi-Fi dongles in the city. WiFire is a new Android app that lets you connect to free Wi-Fi hotspots nearby without requiring you to type in passwords or searching for a good network. It pops up notifications whenever there is a free Wi-Fi hotspot. You just need to give your mobile number once when setting up, after that it logs you in by filling out the details that you usually do when you connect to a free Wi-FI network and also fills the One-Time Passwords (OTPs) you receive, automatically. You can also add free hotspots you discover to earn rewards.

Sony has launched its new compact NW-A25HN Walkman with Hi-Res digital noise canceling feature in India. It was introduced at the IFA last September. It has a 2.2-inch (320×240 pixels) QVGA TFT color LCD display and control buttons.
