Huawei drops plans for its dual boot Android and Windows Phone devices

Last week, Asus dropped its dual boot tablet – Transformer Duet owing to pressure from Google and Microsoft. It looks like that was just a sign of things to come. Today, Huawei, a Chinese manufacturer has announced that it is dropping its plans to build a Android and Windows Phone smartphone.

Huawei announced that it was working on a dual boot smartphone earlier this year and it was planning to release the phone in H2 2014. But now, it seems that the plan is completely dropped and it could be because of the pressure from both Google and Microsoft. Huawei has just dropped the idea for dual boot smartphones, but says that it is still open towards Windows Phone devices and that is a good news for you if you happen to like Huawei Windows Phones.

Karbonn is another manufacturer that has announced that it has plans for a dual-boot Android and Windows Phone smartphone earlier this year, but after seeing Asus and Huawei drop their dual boot plans, it looks like it won’t be long before Karbonn too announce that they are dropping the idea of a dual-boot smartphone.
