Micromax Splash Durable Smartphone with IP67 certification leaked

Micromax Splash leak

Micromax is pushing out more smartphones in the Canvas and the Bolt series recently. Looks like the company is also working on their first water and dust-proof smartphone, according to new leak from the MMXNewscaster. The might be called Splash (or probably Canvas Splash ?) but the official name is not confirmed yet, according to the Twitter user.

It is water-resistant to a depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes with IP67 certification, and is also dust and sand proof, just like the Samsung’s rugged smartphone XCover. According to the leaked image, the phone doesn’t have any hardware buttons on the front, like the XCover, but on the back you can the wordings that indicates that it is IP67 certified. There is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back.

We still don’t have the complete specifications of the smartphone yet. Sony Xperia go was one of the popular durable phones in the Indian market back in 2012. In the same year Motorola launched two water-resistant Android Smartphones, the Motorola DEFY XT and the Motorola DEFY Miniin India.

Will the upcoming durable smartphone from Micromax bring back the durable smartphone trend ?
