My Phone is dead because of a fake IMEI. How Do I Reactivate it now?

China Mobiles

We all know that, all telecom operators blocked handsets with a fake IMEI or no IMEI number recently. Well if you are one of those unlucky ones whose mobile phone went dead, there is now a chance to reactivate it.

You just need to visit any centre authorised by COAI & MSAI with your handset and change your IMEI Number at a nominal fee of Rs. 200 only. The Whole process will take you less than half an hour or so. Also you will need to carry an ID proof when you go to change your IMEI number. i.e Your Voter ID card or Driver’s Licence, or PAN Card or Passport etc.

If you are wondering if this new IMEI is genuine or not, you can check it for yourself. Just press *#06# on your phone and then send the new IMEI Number as an SMS to 53232 after your handset has been implanted. For E.g. SMS IMEI xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx to 53232 without the quotes where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is your IMEI number. Premium SMS charges apply.

You could also check it online by using this IMEI Validity Tool.
