According to MacRumors Apple is already conducting Field Tests for the next gen iPhone in San Francisco Bay Area . The information comes from a company which makes an iPhone application called iBART.

The company Pandav has revealed that its application usage records or if we call it servers logs shows devices with the name iPhone3,1

This is the first time such a device has been spotted in the wild.

We expect the next version of the iPhone to be out in another 6 months

Unless they start field testing the iPhone for other networks, it’s still going to be garbage. AT&T isn’t doing this phone justice, and it needs to start shipping with support for other networks.

iPhone’s image is starting to take a hit as AT&T is deflecting a lot of the blame for issues on the network to them, especially on their forums.

That’s also a possibility , Verizon have openly admitted they are getting the iPhone in 2010 . But right now Verizon seems more than happy with the Droid :)
