Samsung GamePad Hands on


Today, Samsung announced the successor to Samsung Galaxy Grand and also unveiled their GamePad in India. Recently we brought you information that Samsung’s GamePad went on sale in Europe and today we will be bringing you the hands-on pictures with the Samsung GamePad. Samsung has announced that the GamePad will be available in India from January 2014 and will be priced at Rs. 4,999.

The smartphone GamePad will connect with the smartphone via Bluetooth pairing on optimized Android 4.3 devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Note 2 and Note 3, pairing can also be done via NFC tags. As you can see from the images, the Samsung GamePad looks quite premium. It has two direction toggles, a direction pad and a four button layout on the front. There is also a GAME button at the center.

There is a Select and Start button on the bottom of the front side and is quite easily accessible. To the left of it, we have the Bluetooth toggle and below it we have the microUSB charging port.

The back of the Samsung GamePad seems quite plain and the curved back should make it easier to hold on to.

Over at the top, we have two buttons (more like the L1/L2 and R1/R2 buttons in PS3) with the connector ports at the center.

Samsung Smartphone GamePad will be compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and many others running on Android 4.3 and later. The device will be compatible with Samsung’s PLAY application that will let you manage the controller. By pressing the Game button on the controller, you can easily access the market for games which are optimized for GamePad.
