Universal microUSB phone charger passes through ITU

Soon all mobile users can breathe easy and carry a single damn charger for all mobile phones. Many major brands have agreed to adapt to the microUSB charger standard.And the great news is that this Universal microUSB phone charger design just passed through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)

51000 tones of chargers are dumped each year mainly due to users changing handset brands or buying a newer handset. You can expect devices with universal chargers in second half of 2010. Sony Ericsson has already signed up.

    sony ericsson’s the one most guilty of having proprietary ports on most of their devices…….so i think it’s a good sign that the one guilty is signing up first….lol…

    it is nice to heard this news.
    earlier there was single charger for all nokia mobiles. but i am not able to understand why nokia started using smaller pin.
