AnTuTu releases semi-annual performance and regional statistics


AnTuTu Labs has released semi-annual top device performance and regional statistics based on the data collected from the AnTuTu Benchmark 3 app run by users globally. Data in the stats are collected between January 1st, 2013 and June 30th, 2013. This reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the top hardware performer globally in this period. AnTuTu has also revealed popularity ranks based om different countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the popular smartphone in Hong Kong and Taiwan, however in China the Xiaomi 2S is the popular smartphone followed by the Samsung Galaxy S4.

So it is clear that Samsung smartphones are popular worldwide. But people also prefer smartphones manufactured by local brands such as Xiaomi that is cost effective. In Japan the Xperia Z manufactured by Japanese giant Sony takes the top spot as the most popular smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was the top performer for a long time, but the latest Sony Xperia Z Ultra powered by Snapdragon 800 chip over takes it in the benchmarks. So the next AnTuTu labs report would change since the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be powered by the latest Exynos 5 Octa 5420 chip and Snapdragon 800 processors based on the region.
