NokiaThankYou

Just received an email from MyNokia service that Nokia has been voted as the most trusted brand in India.

For the second year running, we have topped the prestigious Brand Equity Most Trusted Brands (MTB) Survey. Conducted by The Nielsen Company on behalf of Brand Equity, this survey is the largest, most diverse and most prestigious survey of its kind, with over 8,000 respondents nation-wide.

NokiaThanks

Let’s stay connected.

Team Nokia India

Congrats to Nokia India but then our expectations shall rise. Some of our expectations including readers views are

  • Don’t keep loyal customers waiting for new models, Do launch them soon or else loose customers.
  • Atleast give us some clarity on the launch dates
  • Try to bundle more handsets with operators
  • Offer EMI option for more phones
  • Launch Dual SIM phones
  • Offer Camera-Free Variants like the E51 considering the huge India population which works in IT industry.
  • And lastly provide better after sales support.

What do you all think ? Did we miss any point ? Can Nokia retain the number one spot next year ?

Varun, your second point takes away all the punch you wanted to give on the first point. Let Nokia understand that it is not acceptable to wait for the latest models when in other parts of the world the phones have been launched. I see a news that E52 has been launched in Pakistan also………

From a strategic point of view, Nokia would look to strengthen Ovi services and tie up with operators to provide these services.
This will compel customers to choose another Nokia for their next phone while using the current one.

Push s60 price points to sub Rs.10,000 levels and advertise/explain its strength extensively in the media. Very few people know about S60/Symbian as a full fledged OS and how to put it to good use.

Nokia Care is very poor. I wouldn’t trust them with my expensive Nokia mobiles. There is not even a facade of showing ‘CARE’ for your mobiles. I realize they handled hundreds of mobiles every day but the thought of leaving an E71 with them is scary.

Like you mentioned, bundling handsets with operator-plans will enable subscribers like me to switch handsets every 6 months and try out new models. Today a device is changed every 18-24 months that that cycle has to be reduced for Nokia to sell more and remain in the customer’s minds.

    Krishna,

Nokia is a big company and they roll out product launch in phases.

Nokia 5800 hit India even b4 USA. And Nokia N86 is not for sale in USA.

There is not much clarity on what phones it intends to launch and market in India. If E52 is not coming to India why don’t they announce it and if its coming give us an exact date.

But one of the problems is the huge inventory they need to build for India as phones sell like hot cakes. I have already contacted them and waiting for a reply.

    Suraj ,

Yes Ovi services offered along with your mobile plans should do really well.

I personally feel Nokia must kill S40 and adopt S60 as a standard OS for all the phones. But roadblock is the cost of hardware used to power phones running the S60 OS. But 10k ? Doubtful

Nokia Care – I have read mixed reviews. But personally , never ever visited one. May be because , I get the best phones or I change phones before it starts facing problems.

Bundling handsets with operators is a great idea but whether it will click is doubtful , Nokia can do it but our greedy operators wont budge to subsidize . This is why iPhone 3gs is getting delayed for eternity .

sub 10k Symbian devices are sure to come. When maemo launches as the premium smartphone OS for Nokia, prices of Symbian-powered smartphones will drop.
    I loved the 6233 – “a high-end S40 device” – s40 cannot be killed – how do you make Rs. 2000 phones without s40?

Would love to see an iPhone 3GS at 25k or so with a 12 month contact from Airtel. I’ll go through a hoop for a deal like that.

I’m really glad to hear that nokia has been voted as the most trusted brand for the second time, in india. Most of the phones launched by nokia has good battery backup, stylish, cheap, user friendly, rich in multimedia and compatible for use for all age groups. Nokia phones are incomparable with other brands. I’m sure nokia will make a hatrick. Best of luck, nokia.

I have recently bought the Nokia 7610S, the dam new mobile is opened the box and found that mobile keys are not functioning. Quickly I went to shop and he told he is helpless with in 2hr of purchase. I went to to Nokia care. they way they are trying to fool me not quite happy. Even I have very much trust on the Nokia. I felt very unhappy and fought that why should i take risk and asking new dam one which is working. they asked me to repare 3 days, I waited and now they are telling some Hardware problem need to go to head off and wait for 10days.

This is really feel to bad for dam new one without touching why should we struggle without replacing them.

Any suggestion how to get it back.
