HTC has finally started rolling out Windows Phone 7.8 update (v7.10.8862.144) for the HTC Radar in India. It started rolling out back in January in some countries. Nokia started rolling out the Windows Phone 7.8 update for their WP 7.5 devices back in January. The HTC Radar was launched in India in October 2011, and got a price cut in August. This update brings several new features including resizable live tiles, bing lockscreen wallpaper, 20 color accents and lots more. This doesn’t have the Bluetooth file transfer feature that was available in Nokia Lumia devices.

The Windows Phone 7.8 update for the HTC Radar brings

  • New start screen with the ability to re-size (small, medium and large) your tiles
  • Daily background lockscreen image from Bing, improved pocket and child lock screen security preventing from accidental swipe
  • Enhanced Chinese fonts, improved appearance of Arabic and more language improvements
  • Windows Phone quality improvements

This update also brings live tile bug fixes, according to the official Microsoft changelog. You might need to installed several updates before you get this final WP 7.8 update. You will get a notification about the update on your phone (Settings > Phone Update > Notify me when new updates are found), and can download the update via Microsoft Zune software for PC or Windows Phone app for Mac.
