    The Omnia HD screen looks ZOMG sexy !

  • hamed

    A capacitive screen always looks more shiny than a resistive one , that’s why Samsung screen looks more bright than the Nokia’s.
    But i still prefer to have a Resistive touch screen since with capacitive screen you have to touch the screen with your bare fingers and imagine if your having ice cream on your hands?!
    you know what i mean ;-)

    I like both the Nokia N97 and Samsumg OMNIA HD they are so nice and beautiful.

    So the brighter screen on the Omnia is nothing to do with the fact it’s AMOLED as opposed to normal TFT LCD on the N97? Having owned the N97 and having sent it back to Nokia in disgust I’ve opted for the Omnia instead. Way too many problems with the Nokia….GPS that doesn’t work, a lens cover that scratches the lens when you open/ close it, endlessly buggy firmware, severe lack of RAM, numb resistive screen, flash that causes white out on the left of all your pictures….the list went on.

    So the Omnia HD i8910 is finally launched in India. I have seen it in Pune and it seems just amazing to have it in hand. The screen is the biggest I have ever seen. I was torn between the N97 and Omnia HD. After a lot of research, I finally think Omnia would be best for me. Moreover I have always been a Samsung brand fan (Nokia….not so much). i8910 is priced at appx Rs. 34,000. Should get cheaper in a few months when Samsung launches Omnia II (Windows Mobile OS). In short its a great multimedia and imaging phone.

    Please help me anyone..!
    I want to know is this model named as i8910. Because I have to buy one as one of my friends is selling his 6months old mobile. Can you guess a price of it. Please do reply.

  • Sujit

    @Satya

    Yes…the Samsung Omnia HD is modeled i8910. It was launched with a price tag of Rs. 34,000 in mid-August, but as guessed, the prices have come down by more than 4,000 in just a month. You can get it at the samsung retail outlets in Pune at appx. Rs. 30,000.

    Having answered that, I really did not understand what you planning one have to do with your friend selling his 6 month old phone? Just curious though :-)

    Belle machine. En tout cas,niveau puissance et performance il s’est fait dépasser par Nokia une fois de plus. J’ai le Nokia N900 et c’est à mon avis (et selon l’avis de beaucoup d’autres testeurs/utilisateurs),le mobile le plus puissant et prometteur que j’ai eu l’occasion d’avoir. le multi-tâche ne rame jamais,etc.. Ce Player HD n’avait que la vidéo comme atout,mais quand j’ai constaté que c’était bloqué à 24 fps/s j’ai été plus que déçu.. Quand au son…. j’évite le sujet,même avec la mise à jour il grésille et n’est pas assez fort. Pour “wes”,le Player HD est en vente chez certains magasins à paris. Ou je vends le mien,je garde mon N900 nettement mieux.
