Gopal Vittal to replace Sanjay Kapoor as Bharti Airtel’s India CEO
On completion of a 15 year stint with Bharti Airtel, CEO Sanjay Kapoor has quite the company. He will continue in his current role as Bharti Airtel’s India CEO till 28th February. He will also be available to assist on key ongoing matters to easy out the transition process.

While he will not continue as CEO, Sanjay Kapoor will serve onthe board of Indus Towers Ltd and Bharti Global Ltd. His replacement, Gopal Vittal will take over Indian operations and will report directly to Sunit Mittal. Vittal has previously been associated with Singtel, Softbank and Silicon Valley Bank which should help in directing the company’s focus on data based services, applications and content. Bharti Airtel will publish its quarterly results on 1st February.
