Nokia 5800 XM Firmware v30.0.011 Out. So What’s New?

updated my 5800 to v30, when my network mode is set to dual mode i get connection error, cannot make calls, reset my 5800 still same problem

the keypad color has been changed to like that of v11.from bold black is their any change like that after update to you guys

I purchased this phone 3 months ago and have been sorely disappointed with the phone and the lack of support from Nokia especially the lack of communications from the company on firmware updates and what’s included. I’ve had to figure out which sites hold information about firware upgrades and by the way non of those updates have been for NAM so I continue to sit and wait but if Nokia cares at all…the countdown has begun and as it stands the Palm Pre is expected to be available in North America using Verizon as a provider.

HI yesterday i updated the new firmware, after the updation when i used my mobile for few minutes,found that the screen was becoming hot. no new changes were seen till time.

I just updated my 5800 to v30.0.011 and found a few more changes
There is a new bookmark in the browser
Goto in browser now the current web page address..before it last entered web address
I have got around 60+ applications and my phone never displayed the last line of applications in landscape mode….this now has been fixed

i bought this model 5800 from The Mobile Store in Mumbai on 19th July this year and from the very first hour I got a message “MEMORY CARD FULL. PLEASE CLOSE SOME APPLICATIONS AND TRY AGAIN’ Can you imagine – paying Rs.18,169.00 for this and begins with a problem.
The dealer simply said “swtich off the phone and restart”. Called up Nokia Care in Borivali West and they confirmed that this model has been having this problem and many new owners of 5800 are facing similar problems. I for one shall never ever buy another Nokia. Will spread the word around and not waste their money. I feel disgusted.

The dealer might have put some extra songs or tampered with the memory card.

Did you try asking for a new memory card ? or did u try with another card ? should cost rs.200-300

Do insist on a replacement if u dont get the problem fixed.

Check the contents of your memory card. The preloaded content from Nokia is around 1GB and you should have around 6GB+ free in the memory card or else the dealer has tampered with the memory card.

Also, Try reformatting the memory card. If the problem still persists, do insist on the replacement of the card from the dealer.

Yesterday, i updated the firmware v30.0.011. After the updation i used the phone and there were no changes at all. Only web and videos seems to load faster. I was expecting a lot, so i am disappointed.

Exactly same error with my 5800 also.
I did hard reset,formatted memory card,changed SIM card to 32KB,changed message memory to Card mem,deleted the cache mem ….but the error still persists even though I hv 70MB free in phone mem and 7GB free in mem card.

All we can do is to wait for the next firmware release v31.

Yes, it seems to be true. My phone’s acting WAY faster than it used to with previous version.

nokia must update new firmvare with 3D display and change the view of default photo browser better than Nseries phones(they have rolling image viewer) . Also in home screen the changes must be make better than new 5530 like sliding shortcut bar(presently u can set 4 shortcuts only) and yes music player option like 5530. Also view of icons and folder icons should be changable by user. It’s do have FTP2 but net speed is not good as it to be. Also there is some problem of flash adjustment with camera as during focusing the image seems to be good where as after capturing it’s not as it was during focusing. Its also having problem with its USB port. It didn’t get connected in PC Suit mode.

My nokia 58oo XM got a bizzare problem. When i changed Sim card, my 118 messages disappeared from inbox..and i haven`t been able to find them, both in phone memory/memory card…Nokia people are asking for a software upgrade..I don`t know if it`ll work or not…

my bluetooth transfer speed has been very slow….tried wid hard format….but no use…can any1 help me??

I updated my phone to v30 and bluetooth is not working it is giving :

i got the phone 1 week back, updated the firmware and got following changes:

Improved Camera Pics.
Faster Browsing.
Ram increased.
Its awesome

updated it yesterday. Have encountred no suc terrible problems mentioned above. Changes are that the letters in the keyboard are bold. Plus now u can insert all symbols in full qwerty keyboard in options. Yeah now last line in apps appears fine. Also, the folders icons on top in messaging have become bigger and slide along. The dialler keys have become thicker. But still couldnt find photograpic tags or watever. Plus u can use secondary camera for pics.

i purchased dis phone in jan n since den the touch pad has given answers four times .. n finally i had to submit d phone in company .. n it ll take 15 days to repair n come ..nokia care service sucks to d core … f****** s*** piece ever made by nokia…
n top d engineer of company decides whether d phone has to b scraped or repair ..wats d use if touchpad doesnt work … is nokia reading dis ????? F*** 5800…guys plz dnt go on its [rice .. its request dnt buy dis phone….

I purchased nokia 5800 xperss music last month, I have a vodafone connection. When ever I make a call to this phone the calling party first get one ring tone then it gives connection error. Initially I complaint for network problem to vodafone and they say they fixed something and the problem should go. but the problem still persist.

I then tried to change to another sim from vodafone then also I am facing the same problem. I tried settings line GSM, dual mode etc, but no use.

The problem is like this
1. The calling party gets first ring tone then ‘Connection Error’ and the call get disconnected, if he/she tries immediately the connection goes through.
2. To repeat the problem from the same calling phone we have to wait atleast for 30 mins. or call from a another number.

Any idea what is the problem ?

You can get it downgraded via some 3rd party apps like Phoenix, Nemesis and JAF by using previous version firmware.

Or just get it done at the nearest Nokia Care Centre, btw its void in some countries, as im frm Malaysia, touching the firmwares voids warranty.

But however I like to explore fone to the max, I have no problem in flashing my N5800XM.

This could be some sort of telco network error, depending on the radio station coverage.

Also please check the genuine of the product you have purchased, wether its for your country’s market.
