South Korean government agency says Samsung chip factory caused Cancer



Working at a Samsung chip factory caused Cancer to a worker who died earlier this year, says the Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service agency, according to a recent report. The women died of breast cancer this March this year had worked in Samsung’s factory for 5 years, 1995 to 2000. She worked in a plant without a radiation detector and the death was caused by exposure to organic solvents and radiation

The Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service agency has announced compensation for the woman’s family. The agency has also compensated former Samsung worker earlier this year, who was affected by a rare disease. Few people have filed claims with the agency that working at Samsung caused them rare forms of diseases.

Samsung has been involved in several allegations in recent times. Last week Samsung confirmed that there are no underage workers employed at supplier, HTNS Shenzhen in China.
