Airtel introduces free incoming calls to customers in Africa while roaming in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

Airtel has introduced world’s first free intercontinental incoming roaming service that would let the Airtel customers in Africa enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This would be available for Airtel customers in 17 countries across Africa. Airtel introduced local outgoing calls for Indian customers at Re.1/min while roaming in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh earlier this year.

This would let 60 million Airtel customers in Africa such as businessmen, tourists and students traveling to the Indian sub-continent to roam at affordable tariffs. There is no need of any activation, this would be automatically activated for both old and old customers in Africa.

Since India is the main destination for African travelers for trade, education and affordable medical facilities, this new move from Airtel would benefit them, and at the same time add new customers to Airtel’s network.
