hoppr, SMS-based check-in service has announced tie-ups with more than 200 merchants in Chennai. This service lets a person check-in to a venue by sending an SMS from their phone, earn points and download coupons which could be redeemed at the venue. Some of the major brands include, Cafe Coffee Day, Pizza Corner Moti Mahal Delux, Candy Club, Vogue, Kettle and Simar. It is available from major service providers – Airtel, Aircel, Idea, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Vodafone.
Users can SMS hop to 56660 to register. To check-in to a place, you need to send the name of the place (Eg: CCD) to 5660. Users can also share their check-ins to Facebook using a SMS.
You can also SMS offers to 56660 to know more about the offers nearby. The company plans to launch an Android app soon, for which you can get an early invite by registering your email on the hoppr site. They are are also working on S40 and Windows Phone apps.
