The HTC Magic sold in india is without ANY GOOGLE APPLICATION – meaning – you cannot install Gtalk,Google Maps or GMail Android Apps and there is no ANDROID Market on it.

its an utter waste of 30k!

Guys if you have android phone with Market access, check it out a cool fun game Thaayam aka ludo. It is really interesting and innovative to play. Have fun.

I was thinking of buying the Magic now, had a few questions :~

    1. Does it have HTC’s SenseUI and what version of Android is it using?
    2. What’s the Android market situation in India ?

I’d appreciate if someone can answer my questions/question. ty

HTC Magic has Android 1.5 firmaware..
I dont know what the HTC senceUI does but till now HTC Magic No.2 Android phone… No.1 ( HTC Dream) has much more breath than HTC Magic. If Slim is a criteria then this is No.1 for you..

As far as Android Market is concerned then you dont need to worry… you can download the application files in .apk format and copy to your phone.. HTC magic has inbuilt launcher… it will install your software..

Free suggestion.. If you want FEATUREISTIC phone then buy it.. Its worth 30K

Android market situation ? Free Apps are available. Then there is Market Enabler. so its pretty cool.

No point getting a Magic now, get the HTC Legend (wonderful design, Android 2.1 etc…) or the Motorola Milestone.

There are a few cheaper androids there too – like the Samsung Galaxy, LG somemodel and the HTC Tattoo (not worth it – i hate resistive screens).
