HTC doesn’t violate Apple patents says UK Judge
Judge Christopher Floyd from a UK court has ruled that HTC does not violate four patents as claimed by Apple. This includes the infamous slide to unlock claim. More interestingly, the judge says that three of the four patents are not valid.
Standard screen unlocking procedures like slide to unlock clearly shouldn’t be patented and this was proven as the judge declared it as invalid. The only valid patent in question involves a procedure related to scrolling through images in the photo management app but HTC was not found to be violating the patent.
