Nokia N97 to be available on EMI to HDFC and Citibank Customers

on June 17, 2009 – 6:12 pm2 Comments

Nokia is doing a multi-city launch for the Nokia N97. After it was launched in Delhi, now it has been launched in Kolkata by Bollywood Actor Rahul Bose. The exact price of the phone has not been revealed even now . But when we contacted a Nokia Concept Store in Chennai, they hinted at a price of Rs.36,000 approx. In order to justify this price and also make it lighter on consumer pockets , Nokia is going to offer EMI options to N97 customers and has tied up with HDFC and Citibank to provide a 3 month EMI option at 0 % interest in select cities.

Many users were asking for EMI for the N97 considering the high price of the phone. But then a 6 month EMI would have been better . A 3 month EMI on a Rs.36000 phone would mean a monthly installment of Rs.12000 which is not a small amount.Don’t know why ICICI was left out from the list . Was it due to the Subhiksha Mobile Store’s episode ?

You can pre-order the Nokia N97 now and also get a DEMO@Home before purchasing the device.

The phone is available in Delhi for Rs 34,999. I am in Bangalore and pre-booked it at the Nokia Priority dealer by paying a token advance. The dealer hasn’t revealed the price but expected that it should be available over the counter by June 22. Now since we know the price of the phone in Delhi, it shouldn’t be any different in Bangalore.
