Native Email and Remote Control get demoed on BlackBerry PlayBook

We told you yesterday that RIM was previewing the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 at CES 2012 and now we have some videos which show native email and remote control working on the Playbook. The tablet got a major price cut in India and other markets recently and is sold out in India.

Here are a couple of videos of the new OS 2.0 software running on the BlackBerry Playbook courtesy of our friends over at CrackBerry

Here is the first video showing native email FINALLY coming to playbook. Also is the ability to add your twitter and linkedin accounts. Also there is a peek at the contact integration. The email compose screen also boasts of a Rich Text Editor.

The second video shows the ability to use a BlackBerry smartphone as a remote control for the Playbook tablet. You can open a link in the playbook’s browser using the phone. You can also use the QWERY keyboard on the phone to input text on the tablet and use the phone’s screen like a mouse for moving around the cursor on the tablet’s screen.

The OS 2.0 software update has been delayed for a long time now. But it sure looks worth the wait at least for BlackBerry fans. RIM is expected to deliver the update for free to existing PlayBook owners next month. Hope it arrives on time this time around !
