Most people were disappointed when Apple didn’t announce the iPhone 5 or the much rumored iPhone Mini. Now its the iPad’s turn to be the rumor generating device.
Back in July, we heard rumors of Apple working on a HD version of the iPad2 but it was later revealed that it has been cancelled.
According to Brian White, an analyst at Ticonderoga Securities, Apple is working on a mini version of the iPad which will cost around 250-300 US$. Mini doesn’t necessarily mean that its smaller but instead have lower pricing.
It would help Apple target competitors like the Amazon Kindle Fire. Along with the cheaper “Mini iPad”, Apple would also announce the iPad 3 which will be an upgrade to the iPad 2 and will be priced similarly.
He says that the “Mini iPad” would be launched in Q1 2012 and the iPad 3 in Q2 2012.
