Android 2.3.4 leaked for Samsung galaxy S2

on July 9, 2011 – 4:54 pm5 Comments

It looks like Samsung is on a roll and giving out updates for their devices on a really fast pace. This time it’s an update for the popular Samsung Galaxy S 2 which has been selling like hot cakes, even though it has not been released in the U.S yet. Good news for the SGS2 users, Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) was leaked for their device bringing the latest gtalk with video calling. Apart from the latest gTalk, the new update will also include better power management which is said to decrease the battery consumption.

Apart from these above mentioned features, this update will also carry with it some bug fixes, thought the users who have already updated the leaked ROM are saying that the lag time while waking the phone still exists and the low-bit-depth color banding issue still exists. The leaked ROM is already available for you to flash, but it will not take much time for Samsung to give out the update via KIES, so for all those people who don’t feel like flashing a leaked ROM should be patient and wait. The version of the new update is : XXKG1. If you are rooted and have ClockworkMod recovery installed then you can follow the instructions over here to update your device to Android 2.3.4 using Odin. ha ha, very biased.
1] No need for Screen guard. Screen is Gorilla glass  with olific coating. Putting a screen guard on it is not recommended.
    2] I agree
3] How many Indians really use Hindi as UI language?
4] I agree Gmail App is poor.
    5] , 6] , 7] & 8] Ever went to android market??? Use GoSMSPro. Its free.
9] You really need to use the phone with unbiased mind. Explore it well before reviewing. Go to Android Market.

    11] I agree
12] How many people Listen to radio on speakers?

And yes, SGS2 is a lot better than iPhone in hardware.

This is one of the most biased posts I have read.
1,2->You are including a lack of screen protector and a flimsy carry pouch as Cons (btw Apple does not include both!). You must be one heck of an Apple fanboy.
And those who use a screen protector are just ruining the touch experience totally IMHO. This is true especially for a Capacitive screen.

5,6,7,8->And texting, please dont make an even bigger fool of yourself, as Ron Ad has said below there are plenty apps we can replace the default messenger with (Handcent comes to mind). Well you would not know this, Apple of course does not allow it in their “iPhone”.

12->And FM? thank heavens that you even have one in S2. I wonder how were you using your “iPhone” without an FM for over 4 yrs, since you deem it so important!

11->Location of USB port is to facilitate accessory usage and MHL (Media High-Def Link). Cough!!!, I wonder where it is placed in “iPhone”!

4-> This is where I agree too, GMail app could be better, but Samsung’s exchange client addresses few of the issues.

So please post some helpful crticism from now on and stop bashing any eco-system/Manufacturer according to your Whims and Fancies.

3] m a indian too but operating my mobile in Hindi Well Give me a Break .

4] Gmail app problem is from googles side n to correct that SGAII provide u with a native email client which is lot better.

5,6,7,8] never had a problem till date on that part m not into messaging much. neither iphone 4 or SGSII gave me any problem till date.

9] only 10 cities??? the app is from accu weather n it provided me with both Nagpur and Delhi the cities which i needed so no comments ahead

10] till date never used any black list feature on any mobile so no comments

11] even Iphone Doc connector is below what problem it makes there i use my mobile lot many times while charging i play game make calls almost every thing only problem i get is the limit of wire but hey all phones have this cannot be a valid point to say its a problem!

12] 90% phones come with option of FM with headphones n as for keeping weight light well thats the best things i liked about SGSII.
