Nokia Maps coming to S40 devices with offline Map viewing

Nokia announced its Dual SIM touch and type slider phone, C2-03 at Nokia Connection at Singapore. This phone also comes with Nokia Maps pre-loaded in it. Unlike the earlier versions of the Nokia maps on the S40 devices, this would support offline map viewing.

This phone would come pre-loaded with the map data of your region in its memory card and you could also download the maps of other countries from the OVI suit. The Nokia maps doesn’t require GPS and it uses cell triangulation to find your location and also provides turn by turn direction, similar to the Maps on the S60 and Symbian^3 devices.

You could find a location and perform advanced search completely offline. You could also share the location from the Nokia Maps easily via an SMS. Nokia Maps is already available in 100 countries.
