Recently there were speculations that Chinese Mobiles may soon be banned in India, and the apex court (Supreme Court) of India also ordered to ban all Chinese mobiles in India that are being used without IMEI numbers.

Supreme court earlier gave a dead line, prior to which, all the telecom operators had to ban services in such mobiles. But the recent order by supreme court of India will be a relief for all Chinese mobile users. According to another recent order passed by Supreme court, such Chinese mobile owners not having a valid IMEI number can validate their handsets by loading a software and paying a specific amount at any of the 1600 centers setup by COAI across the country.

So Chinese mobile users, its a party time for you!

The DOT is still continuing its foul play of banning the China made handsets. This month 2 of my china-made handsets have been blocked. I confirmed the validity of the IMEI number by sending innumerable sms to 53232. Everytime I got a “success” message. Fed up with this DOT notoriority, I got the IMEI numbers updated to 91xxx MSAI – Mobile Standards Alliance of India IMEI numbers. It worked fine for a week and it is blocked again. The sms to 53232 still continue to report it as “Success”.

There is no way one can lodge a complaint with DOT for their misdoing.
