Idea 3G Tariffs and Plans

Idea Cellular has finally launched its 3G services in India in 3 circles Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh , Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. They have also announced their 3G tariffs and plans. They have announced sachet plans for light usage and there are usage based, time based plans. There are also separate plans for heavy users who wish to use USB dongles.The various plans are listed below

Sachet Plans

These plans are just for those who want to get a taste of 3G. We don’t understand what one can do with 10MB on 3G though.

Here you have plans which offer free data ranging from 100 MB to 5GB.

Time Based Plans

Similar to Airtel , Idea also has Time Based plans which remind us of  the days when one used to pay by the hour to browse at a cyber cafe. The time based plans seem attractive if you suddenly wish to download some data quickly.

USB Dongle Tariffs

The company has separate plans for users who would use the 3G connection on their PC or laptop. The tariffs are similar to Usage based plans but is overage is cheaper in Dongle plans at only 5p/10Kb.

Idea is also offering a Data Rate Cutter at Rs.55 which will reduce overage charges to 1p/10kb which is valid for 30 days. What do you think of these tariffs ? Can Idea beat them all as it claims ?

    Idea 3G is very good in Haridwar.
    I have used Idea 3G using my Nokia 5230 and I could make Skype Video Calls on my Laptop using Nokia 5230 Modem with ease. The Net speed is very good.
    The only problem is you use up a HUGE lot of MBs in a very very short while, since you will not realize the high speed at which Video is getting downloaded.
    3G is still too costly.

    The time based plan is good . But they are too expensive .BSNL tariff is the cheapest of all but there is one problem in BSNL .Though the speed is ok, BSNL 3G stops responding often .

    hiiii friends i am using idea 3G & Aircel 3G, But Aircel speed is very very better than Idea & tata docomo, i have used all company’s 3G Plans but i got good experience with aircel 3G. U also just try then u will also happy.

    idea 3g is very costly and speed low . if u use 3g then only airtel 3g. it’s speed is high on all india. bsnl 3g speed is also high but some location speed is down like North raj., kashmir, assam , south area, bengal , himachal and east U.P.

    the above plans are now revised as DOUBLE DHAMAKA were in for recharges the usage will be double. far better as compared to market Leader AIRTEl…

    i did a idea 3G recharge on my idea net setter but by mistake it has done on wrong number on other idea no. plz let me know hw can i get the amount refund.Is there any facilities for this problem.
