Review-PDAir Leather Book Style Case for Nokia N900

Introduction

There are cases and then there are luxurious cases like the ones manufactured by PDAir. The Nokia N900 Cases from PDAir are- A Leather Book Style Case, Leather Flip Style Case and a Leather Pouch Style Case. I will be reviewing the Leather Book Style Case today.

Out of the three cases I feel that the Book case is the one that’s more matching with the landscape oriented design of the N900. The Flip case is very much identical but I guess it would go better with vertically oriented smartphones. Anyway lets take a look a the case and lets see whether its worth the money or not.

Unboxing

The Nokia N900 PDAir Book Style Leather Case comes in a paper box with see through packaging on the front which clearly highlights the case. Here are the contents of the case:

  • PDAir Book Style Leather Case for Nokia N900
  • Belt Clip
  • Clip Adapter

So basically all that you need is included but we expected to see an N900 screen protector also bundled with it.

Design

The case is designed especially for the Nokia N900 so the phone will fit in just perfectly. Not loose or tight in anyway. The shape is just perfect. Just open the magnetic lock and you can use the phone just as you normally would. You can also slide it open to use the keyboard.

The other controls can also be accessed with ease. The 3.5mm jack is open and so is the microUSB port. The camera can also be accessed through the opening at the back. Same is the case with the controls on top.

Comfort

The Nokia N900 is no sleek device. So fitting a case to it only bulks up the device especially a leather case like the PDAir. So it might be a little tight for your pockets but there is no issue at all if you plan to wear it on your belt. For those who want a slim, case this is not what you are looking for.

The case feels good in the hands and also prevents your hands from sweating. The keyboard is protected by a plastic layer and it does not affect typing. The only problem that you may find is that dust might collect in the portion between the keyboard and the plastic layer over time. But it’s nothing that wont go away with a little cleaning.

The slide also is perfectly smooth. The belt clip option is very well done. It can be attached and removed. Unlike other cases where you cannot remove the clip adapter, in this you can remove both the attachment and the adapter. Once it is removed the back side is perfectly flat and slides into your pocket easily. Hence it can be used both in pockets and on belts. The belt clip can also be worn in 360 degrees.

You can get a car case slip adapter if you want to mount it in your car. This is an optional accessory that can be purchased separately. The case holder is magnetic and so it snaps on easily when closing.

Build Quality

The case is made out of genuine soft leather and so it doesn’t smell or feel bad. The quality feels really good. and the accented white stitching gives it a luxurious look.

The case holder is magnetic and so it ensures that the case doesn’t open up accidentally. Although it doesn’t provide impact protection, it should be able to withstand small bumps and falls and it will be able to protect your devices from scratches etc.

Conclusion

If you want a case that adds a touch of luxury to your phone and at the same time provides decent protection and functionality, look no further, this is the ideal case for you phone.
