Opera VPN app for Android and iOS shutting down on April 30


Opera launched its free VPN app for Android and iOS back in 2016. Today it has announced that it will be shutting down the app on April 30th. The company recently shut down its Opera Max data saving app, which was acquired by Samsung. Opera desktop browser has built-in VPN service. The company recently disabled option to select the region.

On its official site, Opera said that all Opera Gold users have the option to redeem a free 1-year subscription to SurfEasy Ultra VPN so that they can enjoy  unlimited usage on up to five devices and access to 28 regions.

It also said that Opera Gold users will be able to migrate within the latest version of the Opera VPN iOS app. Opera is also offering 80% discount on SurfEasy Total VPN for others who can redeem it through the latest version of the Opera VPN iOS and Android apps.

SurfEasy Total costs $4.99 /month or $3.99 /month if you pay it annually. There is SurfEasy Ultra with Torrent Protection and 12 additional countries at $11.99 /month or $6.49 /month if you pay annually.
