Assistant is one such feature that Google constantly works on improving and with the new feature it is more powerful than ever. It can now change settings, initiate conversation with customer support and thanks to a Pixel user’s request, we now know about one more ability of Assistant phone.

On Pixel 2 XL running on Android 8.1 Beta preview update, the user has asked Assistant why his phone wasn’t charging fully and much to his surprise Assistant has initiated a troubleshooting process. Google Assistant was able to run a check on the battery health check and look for apps that might be causing draining issues. When it runs out of options, it offers you to connect with Google support either by phone or chat.

Apart from battery, Assistant can also run diagnostics on Bluetooth and Camera and this feature is limited to Pixel 2 series limited to the US units running Android 8.1 beta preview and is not available on 2016 Pixel series and other Android phones. Google’s Pixel Phone Help pages for battery and Bluetooth now has referenced the Assistant as a method for troubleshooting, but WiFi yet.
