Binatone which is a UK based telecom company has entered the tablet market in India by launching the Home Surf Touch tablet which is a Touchscreen Android tablet at a Rs.9000 price point.
The device is almost as thin as the iPad and runs on Android 1.6. It sports a 8 inch resistive display and is powered by a ARM 11 667 MHZ processor with 128MB RAM and 2 GB of storage.Connectivity is by means of WiFi.
The pictures show the device name as HomeSurf MID and seems like it’s going to have multi-colored bumpers like the iPhone 4
Binatone is planning to invest 50 crores in the next months in these “indianised” products and has a software team operating out of Bangalore.
