This week Xiaomi launched 32GB version of Mi Max 2 in India, Sony launched Xperia XA1 Plus, LG launched G6+, Moto introduced Moto X4 Android One version. Let’s take a look at all the announcements and launches that took place this week.
Xiaomi launched the Mi Max 2 smartphone in India earlier this year with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs. 16999. The company launched the 32GB storage version of the phone in the country. Other specifications are same, including a 6.44-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with 0.7mm ultra narrow bezel on the side, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 5300mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 along with parallel charging and Snapdragon 625 with 4GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 4GB + 32GB version comes in Black version and is priced at Rs. 14,999, but it will be available at an offer price of Rs. 12,999 when is goes on sale on Amazon.in and Mi.com on September 20th at 12 noon. Check out our Mi Max 2 review, if you are planning to get the phone.
LG launched the LG Q6+ with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in the country. All other specifications of the phone are same as the Q6. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and has a 7000 series aluminum frame. The LG Q6+ comes in Astro Black and Ice Platinum colors in India, is priced at Rs. 17,990 and will be available from retail stores offline starting today.
Sony Mobile launched Xperia XA1 Plus in India. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display with ultra-narrow borders on the sides, is powered an same Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P20 processor, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), has a 23-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Hybrid Auto-Focus and a 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera.
The Sony Xperia XA1 Plus comes in Gold, Black and Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 24,990 and will be available across India from tomorrow, September 22nd.
Micromax launched Selfie 3, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the country as the successor to the Selfie 2 that was launched in July. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with flash for capturing selfie even in low-lighting conditions. The Micromax Selfie 3 comes in Black and Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 11,999.
Intex launched Aqua Lions 2 the Aqua series with 4G VoLTE support. It has a 5-inch FWVGA screen, is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), has a 5-megapixel camera on the front and back and packs a 2400mAh battery. The Intex Aqua Lions 2 comes in Champagne Gold and Black colors, is priced at Rs. 4,599 and is available from offline stores.
Micromax launched Bharat 3 and Bharat 4, budget 4G VoLTE smartphones in the country. Both these are powered by MediaTek MT6737M SoCs with 1GB RAM, run Android 7.0 (Nougat) and have 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. These have support for 22 Indian languages support. The Micromax Bharat 3 and Bharat 4 come in Black colors, are priced at Rs. 4499 and Rs. 4999, respectively.
Gionee launched X1s, successor of X1 smartphone in the ‘X series’ that was launched last month. It has a 5.2-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T processor, runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and has 13-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. The Gionee X1s comes in Black and Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 12,999 and will be available from retail stores.
Intex launched Cloud C1 and Aqua S1, two new budget smartphone with 4G VoLTE support and Android 7.0 (Nougat). These have 4-inch WVGA and 5-inch FWVGA displays, respectively and have 1GB RAM. The Intex Cloud C1 comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 3,499 and is available exclusively from Amazon.in, while the Intex Aqua S1 comes in Black and Champagne Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 3,999 and is available exclusively from Amazon.in.
iBall launched Slide PenBook, its latest Windows 10 2-in-1 with bundled digital pen that lets you pen down your ideas using Windows Ink and the Windows Hello lets you unlock it using fingerprint sign-in. It has a 10.1-inch WXGA 10-point multi-touch display, is powered by Intel x5 processor, has a light aluminum alloy design and packs a 6000mAh battery. The iBall Slide PenBook comes in Black color, is priced at 24,999 and will be available from retail stores soon.
Western Digital Corporation launched new SanDisk Dual Drive with micro-USB and USB 2.0 ports for Android smartphones and tablets. It is available up to 128GB capacities, compared to 64GB in the predecessor. This is designed for Android smartphones and tablets so that you can easily transfer files from you PC or Laptop to mobile devices with USB on-the-go (OTG) support.
The SanDisk Dual Drive comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities at MRP of Rs. 700, Rs. 1150, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 3500 respectively, but you can get it from Flipkart for as low as Rs. 549 and from Amazon.in at Rs. 639, Rs. 915 and Rs. 1799 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants, respectively. It is also available from retail outlets across the country.
Sony has launched Dolby Atmos Soundbar HT-ST5000 7.1.2 in India. It delivers superior audio quality with S-Force PRO Front Surround technology while acting as a wireless speaker for music listening. . Saregama launched Carvaan Mini Bluetooth speaker allows you to stream music from your phone or music streaming apps, plug in your pen drive and also listen to a pre-loaded collection of 251 most popular retro Hindi songs, sung by Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Mukesh. The speaker comes with Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 and AUX IN. It has a rechargeable battery lasts approximately 4-5 hours. Huawei’s Honor brand launched the Honor 10000mAh power bank in India. The power bank has a standard USB output for 9V/2A fast charging smartphones. It also has both USB Type-C and micro USB input ports that also has 9V/2A fast charging support that lets you charge the power bank in 3.5 hours. The Honor 10000mAh power bank will be available from tomorrow exclusively on Honor Store at an offer price of Rs. 1999.
Panasonic launched Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700, two new smartphones in the Eluga Ray series. The Eluga Ray 500 has a 5-inch HD screen and features 13-megapixel primary rear camera along with an 8-megapixel secondary camera, while the Eluga Ray comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash.
Bose officially unveiled QC 35 II noise-cancelling headphones that come with Google Assistant. Rumored earlier this month, QC35 are the first headphone to support your Google Assistant. It sports a new Action button on the right earcup of the headphones which launches Google Assistant.
Vivo announced its X20 and X20 Plus smartphones at an event in China. The X20 and X20 Plus have a 6.01-inch and 6.43-inch Full HD+ 18:9 Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass screens with 85.3% and 86.11% screen-to-body ratio, respectively and are powered by Snapdragon 660 with 4GB of RAM. These have a 12-megapixel rear camera with secondary 5-megapixel camera with dual pixel technology and 0.03s dual focus.
Huawei announced Maimang 6, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in China. It packs a 5.9-inch Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with minimal bezels, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 659 processor and has a 16-megapixel rear camera with a 2-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth information. There is also a 13-megapixel front camera with a secondary 2-megapixel camera.
Google officially announced the Android version of the Moto X4 smartphone. It is exclusive to U.S. for Project Fi users. This is the first Android One phone to launch in the U.S. and is also be the first non-Google phone to join Google’s Project Fi.
Meizu just announced M6, its latest budget smartphone and the successor of last year’s M5 in China, but it is just a minor upgrade. It packs a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 processor and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat)-based FlymeOS 6 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with 4-color RGBW flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
