You can now share Instagram Stories in direct messages

Instagram will now let you share Stories in direct messages. In addition to your stories, you can even share Stories of people you don’t follow.

Following the update, you will now see a direct button at the bottom right corner of a Story. You can select friends you want to share the Story with by simply tapping on the direct button.  After selecting the friend just hit tap and the Story will be sent. When someone shares a story with you, you will see it in your Direct inbox. When the original story disappears from the app, it will no longer be available in your message thread.

The latest update will save you from the hassle of taking a screenshot of a Story and then sharing with your friend. If you prefer to turn off the ability for others to share your story in Direct, you can always disable the option in your stories settings. In case you have a private account, only your followers can view your story in Direct. The Facebook owned photo and video sharing site has also added new face filters. With the latest filter you can jump on your motorcycle and open your mouth to rush down the road. Bring a friend along for the ride in your sidecar and watch a rainbow appear before your eyes.

Instagram has been bolstering its efforts with Stories by releasing new features and updates almost every month. Instagram Stories has been an instant hit since its launch a year ago. The feature which now has over 250 million daily active users is a Snapchat competitor. Earlier this month, it expanded Stories for the web.
