Jide discontinues Android-based Remix OS as it shifts focus to enterprise market

Remix OS 2.0 for PC

Jide Technology that was found in 2014 introduced its own devices with Remix OS ROM in 2015. Last year it introduced Remix OS 2.0 tweaked to work on PCs and even launched Remix IO+ 4K TV box based on Android Nougat. It even launched the Slide Brace-X1 4G tablet with Remix OS in India. Today it has announced that it will discontinue Remix OS for PC as well as products such as Remix IO and IO+ as it aims to concentrate on the enterprise space.

It will begin issuing refunds starting August 15th for Kickstarter backers and will send an email indicating the amount of the refund and the payment source refunded.

Regarding the transition, Jide on its official site, said:

We’ll be restructuring our approach to Remix OS and transitioning away from the consumer space. As a result, development on all existing products such as Remix OS for PC as well as products in our pipeline such as Remix IO and IO+ will be discontinued. Full refunds will be issued to ALL BACKERS via Kickstarter for both Remix IO and Remix IO+. In addition any purchases made via our online store that has remained unfulfilled will also be fully refunded. This requires no action from you as we will begin issuing refunds starting August 15th.
