Instagram has done it again. The Facebook owned photo and video sharing site has once again copied Snapchat by launching face filters. With the latest update, users will be able to add different filters on their face.

For starters Instagram is rolling out eight Snapchat-style augmented reality face filters such as koala ears, nerd glasses, a butterfly crown and so on. These face filters will work with both the photo, video and Boomerang in real-time. After recording the photo or video, you can send it via Instagram Direct or add it to your story.

Moreover, Instagram has also announced a couple of other new features, including a rewind option for videos that lets you play them in reverse. There is a new hashtag sticker that you can use on images similar to mentions. People watching your story will be able to tap the hashtag sticker or text to visit the hashtag page and explore related posts. Finally, with a new eraser brush you can erase other things you’ve drawn and play around with removing color. After you’ve taken a photo or video, select a drawing tool and tap and hold to fill the entire screen with color.

Instagram launched Instagram Stories last year in December which is now being used by over 200 million users daily. These updates along with face filters are available as part of Instagram version 10.21 for iOS in the Apple App Store and for Android in Google Play.
