Timex iQ+ Move Gallery & Impressions

Timex iQ+ Move -3

Timex, the 160 year old American watch brand, introduced it’s latest smartwatch in India today. Called the Timex iQ+ Move, it combines an analog movement with smart functions like activity tracking, perfectly synchronised time and more. While a full review is forthcoming, here’s a gallery and some first impressions of the watch.

Timex iQ+ Move -4

First things first, the iQ Move does not look like a smartwatch and that’s part of the charm. As far as analog watches go, the iQ+ Move is very smart to look at.  The clean numerals free design, 41mm case and navy blue accented needles exude a look that is sophisticated yet sporty and that’s just fine since this is the sports variant we’re looking at.

Timex iQ+ Move -7

Unlike full fledged smartwatches, iQ Move is sufficiently slim and in fact could easily pass off as a regular analog watch. There are no unsightly buttons around here except for a single crown that on pressing down triggers the indiglo functionality. Indiglo for those don’t know, is a form of even backlighting that Timex pioneered back in the 90s. Long pressing  the button further is used for synchronising the watch with your smartphone.

Timex iQ+ Move -6

The Timex iQ+ is powered by a regular coin cell and delivers a full year of battery life. We’ll walk through the entire set up and functionality in our full review but for a brief run down, let’s list out all the functionality that you can expect here.

  1. Time synchronised with phone
  2. Count down timer on analog watch face
  3. Activity tracking
  4. Sleep tracking

As you can see, functionality isn’t the most robust around and you can’t even get notifications from your phone but that’s not the point. By integrating an analog watch face with smart functionality, the Timex iQ Move removes the friction layer for many prospective buyers who either don’t need the full range of features or would simply prefer a design that closely resembles a dress watch. The Timex iQ+ Move seems to deliver on both fronts. Priced at Rs. 9,995, the Timex iQ+ Move is available in the sportier resin strapped variant while a leather version will follow shortly.
