Nintendo Switch hits new sales records

Nintendo’s Switch gaming console that went on sale from March 3 has become the Japanese company’s fastest-selling console ever. New York Times reporter Nick Wingfield tweeted that Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told him in an interview that the Switch had “exceeded first 2-day sales in Americas for any system in Nintendo history”

Although there is no definite number, Switch sales are said to have exceeded that of the hit Wii console. The sales from the two days of sales — March 3 and March 4 — are from across Nintendo markets in North, South and Central America, including the United States and Canada. It is said that the Wi sold 600,000 units in six days in the same region. Fils-Aime also added that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch had become the best-selling launch title of any Nintendo console.
