Zoook launched its latest Bluetooth speaker recently dubbed as Rocker Encore to establish themselves in the Indian market.
This speaker comes with lots of features including Ruggedness, Water resistant, Dust-proof, Shock-proof and much more. As the name goes, this Rocker Encore is a rugged speaker and can withstand when thrown around. Let’s take a look at the device in detail to see what it provides the users.

The Rocker Encore has a tough and a sporty look on its exterior with a mix of Blue and Black colors. At the top of the speaker, you get the various control such as the power button that also acts as the Bluetooth pairing trigger, volume up/down and call accept/play/pause button. Also, at the top left intersection, there is a rubber grip/flap that lets you hold by hand to prevent the speaker from losing, and dropping.
On to the right, the speaker has a microUSB port and the 3.5mm audio jack hiding under a rubber flap for protection. This water tight rubber flap is what protects the speakers and gives an IPX5 rating. Moving on to the front, it houses a speaker grill along with a LED that shows blue when turned on and red when it is out of charge. It measures 173 x 73 x 49 mm and weighs around 425 grams.
To pair, you need to first switch on the speaker using power button. Now start Bluetooth of your mobile device and search for Rocker Encore. In case, if you want to connect the speaker to a device which doesn’t have a Bluetooth, then the Aux port comes handy.
When used in real-time, the audio clarity is surprisingly good with really loud sounds and thumping bass that can fill a room easily. At higher volume, the speaker isn’t same and the output felt a bit muffled. Moreover, it also has a built-in mic that can be used to make or take calls even if your phone is far away. The play/pause button can be used to accept an incoming call and the call quality is quite good.
This speaker can be used either with Bluetooth 4.0 or use 3.5mm AUX input. But, we suggest you, to use with Bluetooth as that’s what its made for.
The Encore speaker comes juiced with a 2000mAh Li-ion battery and the company claims it that it offers up to 6 hours of battery life. In our tests, the speaker lasted for over 4 hours on a single charge with maximum volume, which is pretty decent in our case.
Overall, the Zoook Rocker Encore is a good buy, if you travel and party often. While it may appeal to the casual listeners, those who have an ear for good quality sound can avoid it.
