Weekly Roundup: Samsung Galaxy On Nxt, C9 Pro, LeEco Le Pro 3, Nubia Z11 mini, Z11 miniS and more

This week Samsung launched Galaxy On Nxt in India, which is the same On7 (2016) that was introduced in China last month.

The Galaxy On Nxt packs a differnt processor than On7 (2016) and is powered by Exynos processor instead of Snapdragon 625 SoC. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

In China, the company also announced Galaxy C9 Pro this week. It packs a 6-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, is powered by the latest Octa-Core Snapdragon 653 processor, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top and 16-megapixel front and rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy On Nxt comes in Gold and Black colors, is priced at Rs. 18,490 and will be available exclusively from Flipkart starting from 24th October.

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro comes in Gold and Rose Gold colors and is priced at 3199 yuan (US$ 470 / Rs. 31670 approx.). It is already available for pre-order in China and goes on sale from November 11th.

Nubia launched nubia Z11 mini, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in India. It has a 5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D arc glass, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 617 SoC and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with new nubia UI 3.9.6. It has 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) that lets you focus quickly and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

It has fingerprint sensor on the back, 4G LTE support, comes with hybrid dual-SIM that lets you use the second SIM as an expansion slot when required and has 2800mAh battery.

The company also announced nubia Z11 miniS in China. It packs a 5.2-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with nubia UI 4.0. It has a 23-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX318 sensor, LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) for quick focus in 0.1 seconds, and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB /128GB of internal storage with hybrid dual-SIM support that lets you use the second slot as a microSD expansion slot when required. The Nubia Z11 miniS comes in Gold, Silver and Gold with Black colors and is priced at 1499 yuan (US$ 222 / Rs. 14,870 approx.) for the 64GB version and the 128GB storage version costs 1899 yuan (US$ 281 / Rs. 18,830 approx.).

LeEco this week entered into the U.S. market with new Le Pro 3 and Le S2 smartphones, range of Super4 series – Super4 X43, Super4 X55, Super4 X65 and uMax85 Android Smart TVs. The Le Pro 3 was introduced in China recently and the Le S3 is the same Le 2 that was launched in India recently.

Gionee launched P7 Max, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘P Series’ in India. It has a 5.5-inch HD display with NEG glass protection, is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa Core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo 3.2 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Gionee P7 Max comes in Gold and Grey-Blue colors and is priced at Rs. 13999.

Honor announced Honor Pad 2 and Honor Watch S1 along with the Honor 6X. The Honor Pad 2 has a 8-inch Full HD display, is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI on top. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with single LED flash and comes in both WiFi and 4G variants with voice calling capabilities.

The Honor Watch S1 is a fitness watch with a circular dial and interchangeable straps (18mm). It weight just 35 grams, is water resistant up to 50 meters. It also has a heart rate monitor, offers notifications for calls, messages and reminders when connected to a smartphone. It promises up to 6 days of battery life.

The Honor 6X is company’s latest mid-range smartphone. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 655 16nm processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1. It has a 12-megapixel camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), LED flash and a secondary 2-megapixel for achieving depth of field and background blur.

The Honor 6X comes in Gold, Silver, Grey, Blue and Rose Gold colors and is priced at 999 yuan (US$ 148 / Rs. 9885 approx.) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version, 1299 yuan (US$ 192 / Rs. 12850 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version costs 1599 yuan (US$ 237 / Rs. 15825 approx.).

The Honor Pad 2 comes in Gold and White colors and is priced at 999 yuan (US$ 148 / Rs. 9890 approx.) for the 3GB RAM with 16GB storage WiFi version, 1299 yuan (US$ 192 / Rs. 12,855 approx.) for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage WiFi version and the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage 4G version costs 1499 yuan (US$ 222 / Rs. 14835 approx.).

The Honor Watch S1 comes with Orange, Black and Blue straps and is priced at 699 yuan (US$ 103 / Rs. 6915 approx.).

Panasonic launched Eluga Tapp, the company’s latest 4G smartphone in the Eluga series with support for 4G VoLTE.  It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, is powered by a 1.25GHz Quad-Core processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Panasonic Eluga Tapp comes in Champagne Gold and Silver Gray colors and is priced at Rs. 8,990.

Western Digital launched two new hard drives in India. The My Passport and My Book hard drives have received a design overhaul and now come with password protection and hardware encryption.

My Passport is available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB variants for Rs 7,980, Rs 11,910 and Rs 17,140 respectively. My book is available in 3TB, 4TB, 6TB and 8TB variants for Rs 13,050, Rs 16,470, Rs 26,600 and Rs 29,500. respectively.

Kodak introduced Ektra, its second Android smartphone after the IM5 that was introduced back in January 2015. This has a 21-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), non-reflective lens coating, dual-tone LED flash and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

It packs a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by Deca-Core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and has 4G support via SIM card. The Kodak Ektra will be go on sale in Europe for £449 / €499 (Rs. 36,600 approx.) this December.

Reliance launched LYF F1, which it calls a Special Edition smartphone. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 617 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The LYF F1 comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 13,399 and is backed by a 2-year warranty.

Xolo launched Era 2, the company’s latest budget 4G smartphone in the Era series. It has a 5-inch WVGA display, is powered by a quad-core processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 5-megapixel front and rear cameras with LED flash.  Quick Camera feature that allows you to access the camera by double-tapping on the Home button while accessing other apps.

The Xolo Era 2 comes in Black, Nile Blue and Pyramid Gold color, is priced at Rs. 4,499 and will be available exclusively from Snapdeal through flash sale from October 27th.

Intex launched Cloud Scan FP, the company’s latest smartphone in the Cloud series, which is also the cheapest smartphone with a fingerprint sensor in India. It has a 5-inch FWVA display with 70% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731C processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and has 5-megapixel front and rear cameras.

It has 3G connectivity and comes with dual-SIM support, similar to most other budget smartphones from Intex. The Intex Cloud Scan FP comes in Champagne and Dark Blue colors, is priced at Rs. 3,999 and is available exclusively from Snapdeal.

iBall launched Slide Q27 4G, the company’s latest tablet with 4G VoLTE support. Even though it doesn’t have an earpiece, it supports voice calling via headphones or a Bluetooth headset. It has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with a single LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

It also has dual-SIM support with dual standby, has 2GB RAM and packs a 5500mAh battery. The iBall Slide Q27 4G is priced at Rs. 12,799.
