The Nokia N900 has a great 3.5 inch Touchscreen display with 800 × 480 pixels which works pretty well under most conditions . But don’t  we always crave for larger displays ?  How about blogging on a 21 inch TV with the N900 . Apart from blogging the TV-out feature of the N900 is so cool that you can watch Youtube videos playing on the phone browser on your TV  (with audio ofcourse)

Imaging playing games on your TV with your phone. Nokia has got brilliant hardware on the N900 but the Maemo apps  and games are still evolving. Nokia is doing a developer event in India called DevCon 2009 and Maemo is part of the agenda. Lets see what comes out of the Developer Conference.

Here is the multiplayer version of the Quake3 game being shown off during the Maemo Summit

Part of this post was typed on the N900 when it was connected to the TV.

    it’s a wonderful phone mostly for browsing….but this thing can be done with almost all high end phones so………….

    i meant the HDMI connection…..

  • apaul says:

    ya thats what i meant, it has the best browser amongst mobiles so theres nothing to argue about that….the tv out is normal…hope it’s clear…

    about other smartphones having better browsers, the HTC HD2 actually

    has an excellent and powerful browser. As the hardware in N900 is no

    match for HD2 so I didnt bring any comparison into that….the

    Motorola Milestone(Droid) also has a better browser, that is even

    faster and much better viewable than N900….but the point is N900

    is a good browsing internet tablet…

      Actually good point,

      HD2 has got amazing hardware. And you know what it comes with Opera Mobile with Touch support and IE Mobile . Both these browsers don’t come close to N900’s Browser.

      The Droid comes with good browser too but zooming is not easy . And Droid does not have flash support in the browser like the N900. It plays Youtube videos using the video player. But Droid has a larger screen which makes viewing nice. But the browser is incomplete.

      cheers

        @Varun

        I was’nt referring to the actual “Droid”, you see in Europe it has been launched as Motorola “Milestone”, contains a great advantage over the US versions that supports multi touch. Surfing, like pinch zooming etc., is way more superior. It’s being considered one of the greatest browsers till date.

        And about flash, even Apple’s “Safari” doesnt have flash, but that doesn’t make it any less from being the best browser in mobile phone world. It’s the rendering and superb flow ,in which even Safari is getting beaten by HD2 in some cases.

        But yes I would say the N900 has an impressive browser and Nokia’s finally done it right after E-series.

        And also new Firmware with accelerometer, support for both landscape and portrait viewing, for N900 is coming in Jan possibly….so I think you’ve got reasons to cheer…. :)

        @Varun

        Dolphin have just added multi-touch to their android browser for Anroid phones like the Droid, so now even the “Droid” has multi touch. Just got the news Bro….

        Everything iDon’t Droid does… :)
