Samsung have announced the badaOS for their mobile phones. It will be a replacement to the Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms. The name “bada” is derived from a Korean word signifying “ocean”. The name was chosen as it represents the endless possibilities with the OS.

SamsungĀ bada isĀ a new open platform that enables a richer user experience in applications on Samsung mobile devices.

Right now no further information on the platform is available. Sasmung only gives us a sneak peek and slight info at an official site.

The official announcement should be in December when Samsung will officially launch the OS along with the SDK.

Here’s the link to the official site

Samsung is moving pretty well in the market, they have a global share of approx 21% to Nokia’s leading 38%, and is posing quite a threat to the top dog…..

well, this OS will not make much out of it maybe the UI etc. will be

good, no-one is going to move away from symbian as it is much richer

and also the app store is offering numerous apps….apps will be

developed for this OS possibly after 5 yrs or so, by then symbian

would have advanced way further and android will be at number 1 spot…so

tough luck on this one…just have to wait and see
