The Sony Ericsson Satio, previously known as the Idou, has been announced as a concept device during Mobile World Congress 2009. At the time, the mere idea of introducing a 12MP camera in a smartphone was baffling, and it received a lot of praise from the general public, although many were wondering whether or not the Idou will see the light of day as a production device.
Well, the Idou eventually became the Satio, and is now almost ready to roll through the markets. With S60 5th Edition on board, a ton of UI improvements introduced by Sony Ericsson’s knowledge and past experience from UIQ, a heart-throbbing 12 MegaPixel camera, GPS, WiFi, accelerometer, the Satio is definitely a great contender to the hottest/geekiest/most capable smartphone of the year award.
Fortunately, we were able to snag a prototype unit of the Satio, even before they go into production mode, for a full week. Here, we present to you an unboxing of the very special Prototype box that the Idou was delivered in, as well as a full gallery walkthrough of the different Satio angles. awesome… very awesome indeed.. these mobile companis made me confused, if i stick to any one, others will be upset, what to do?
totally confused between i-dou, n900, htc touch hd 4.3″ ,g1, leo, Acer Tempo F900, Eten glofiish X800, etc etc…. can anyonw help. i think better have a Rs.2000 handset, & njoy ur life..

Don’t know if anyone has noticed, but if you look at the 8th picture from the bottom, you can see that the label 12.1 megapixel is a bit scrapped off.
For something so simple, why such a low quality label from Sony Ericsson ?!
They can pump in so many features but can’t give proper label ??…I’m dissapointed.
Shawn, you are right about the label being peeled off, but keep in mind that this is a prototype unit, so it probably spent a good deal of time in the hands of people in SE testing it, and that it is not final hardware. We should look at this issue when the final production units start hitting the stores

hey friends, i got omnia HD today. (I AM THE FIRST PERSON TO HAVE THIS HANDSET IN MY WHOLE STATE.) its really nice fon, image quality is awesome. Ofcourse dont compare its sensitivity with i fon. coz its so rich in other features. one thing u can play video in any format, no need to convert. i think one joystick is missing, perhaps habit will change me. so frnd have u watched the samsung new 12 megapixel going ahead of i-dou..

This mobile is fantastic. You can use it dual purpose. i think it is a great mobile with fantastic camera with 12 MeghaPixel. OverAll i like it..

this phone is now out in shops in the uk and only being sold in carphone warehouse their bit it only price is around the £400 or you can buy it on a 18month contract and a 24 mnth —> minimum of £30 to get the phone for free on the 24mnth contract.
its around 32-35 k the phones very good good luck in buyign it im on my way to do the same
