Some good news for all 5800 users in India. Nokia will be offering a firmware update for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic by early October. We got this info from a very reliable source at Nokia India. It would coincide with the release of the N97 mini in the market and also the v2.0 update for the N97
Not much is known about the change log of the new firmware but we guess it might bring kinetic scrolling to lists like we saw in the 5230 video. While we dig deeper for more info . Let us know if you are happy with the firmware updates for your 5800 so far and do you have any problems with the phone ?

I hope we get the firmware update soon. I personally want the UI to be as snappy as the 5530 even if there is no Kinetic Scrolling!

Is it true that the new retail box of NOkia 5800 XM does not have the stand,extra stylus, TV out cable. Also in some of the blogs i have read that the TV out option itself is not there. Can you confirm whether only the TV Out cable is missing from the retail box or the TV Out functionality itself is removed? Can you tell me what all accessories will be given in the new Retail box?
there is already firmware v31.0.0.8 available(since 2 days)and now through NSU also but still not availble through OTA,but there is nothing new in that firmware update only some minor bug fixes.
are you talking about this firmware or is there any other firmware coming please enlighten us.

The firmware on dailymobile did not seem authentic . Many members were calling it a fake when I saw this thread 2 days ago. My info comes from Nokia India. They are rolling out a new update in early october

Therz a thread in dailymobile.se forum about v31 firmware for Europe….those who updated has got no new feature….its only to fix some bugs it seems…
i dont think it is fake as people have now updated through NSU and OTA which cannot be fake.i think this is the update which nokia will release in india so donot expect any big changes and if there is some other firmware coming after this in october then i donot know but it is less likely as nokia will not release new firmware after the latest firmware v31 in less than a month.

The v31 FW is real, many people have got it now, myself included. Faster UI and a few bug fixes, newest Ovi maps and that is about it.

the new nokia 5800 boxes after price reduction do not have a protective cover,extra stylus .i noticed this in the set i got.is there anything else missing?
Yup, a few more things missing… One of the most important things being absense of the TV out feature!!! The nokia 5800 no longer has the TV out feature…So the TV out cable is missing in the box…

Just one month back i got my new Nokia 5800 XM for INR 16500/- Sadly the price reduced in one month. nearly 20% decrease.

The price of nokia 5800 xm (red) is now Rs 13300/-.The premium edition (blue) costs Rs 16400/-.The premium edition supports TV-OUT.

dont wait.. get it..u can always get the firmware update after it’s released… and as for the kinetic scrolling, it’s not there in the v31 firmware.. though it’s rumoured to come up in the next firmware due in July next year… do u want to wait?

I got Nokia 5800 XM (Blue) for 14000.

Well…October will probably go and we still won’t have it. Is it really that hard to put a small OTA update file on different regional servers at the same time?? Frikkin! Sri Lanka already has the update..but it’s still not out here…damn!!!

it is true that there is an update to v31.but it is not available thru nsu.i recently purchased nokia 5800 xm,every it’s written that new firmware is available but i cannot get the new firmware thru nsu.its still showing v30.0.011.if ny1 has has got the update in india please tell me how to get it.
