Looks like Nokia is taking on Apple with the N900. The spec sheet of N900 looks more beefy than iPhone 3GS for sure. Lets compare the two monsters just based on the specs.

AT&T or T-Mobile ?
GPS Assisted-GPS with Digital Compass Assisted-GPS receiver if N900 carries N97’s legacy GPS then , iPhone’s Digital Compass is a winer

Looks like iPhone 3GS is going to have a tough time competing against the N900. and looking at the 3G Frequencies , It’s most likely that T-Mobile gets the N900 and AT&T wont.  Also the N900 will be available only in select markets – Europe, Middle East, North America.

iPhone 3GS or N900 ? Vote now !

    Pretty sure you have the GPS wrong. It has a full GPS receiver WITH Assisted GPS, not simply A-GPS. It is just like the Nokia N810.

    It shows he’s a Nokia fanboy…

    “It shows he’s a Nokia fanboy…”

    I agree a better approach would be to say unknown, but..

    If he were a Fanboy he would have said Maemo because it is an open un-castrated os.

    they r both great phones and very good features but i dnt understand why iphones dnt have flash well thats fair and for n900 i hate bricks phones

    IF (n900.GPS == n810.GPS) {
    n900.fail();
    }

    ;((((((((

    Well very simple answer. Apple doesn’t want apps made by PC developers. Apple wants all the money for them.
    P.S: If you are a developer and want to program for the iPhone Apple will charge 30% of all profit that you make.
    Thas’s why no no cross platform.
    And also push the developers to use the Mac. :(

    Se ve que todos buscan la forma de undir al iphone, poniendo solo en lo que el nokia gana, y no en lo que el iPhone gana, y todavia prefiero al iPhone, el n99 es el 4 intento de iphone por parte de nokia, y casi lo iguala, pero despues apple va a sacar otro iPhone y nokia se va a volver a quedar atras, hasta que saque su decimo octavo intento de iphone. Hasta la propaganta termina igual que la del iphone, cuando lo llaman. Me parece que nokia solo quere undirse y demostrar su falta de creatividad e inovacion, todos sus telefonos alta gama son un cacho de plastico con una camara de fotos de 10000000000000 megapixeles que no sirven de nada porque tiene un lente dimituno, con flash y mucha memoria, y cuando salio el iPhone, agarro a su serie N recargada de webadas y le puso pantalla tactil.

    …. Debo reirme?

    Espera que aun no lo proceso… Un Iphone vs un N900!? POR DIOS! jajajaja! El Iphone es muy poco para colocarlo cerca a un Nokia! :S

  • Rex says:

    As I’ve said before- even if we may compare the two, the N900 is way beyond the iPhone’s league and it makes no sense to compare the two.
    Nokia isn’t targeting those who would go for an iPhone, that’s for sure.

  • Aki says:

    When you want to have easy-controlled and a good multimedia-phone, the iPhone will be better choice because of the better touch screen and better usage and iPod etc.

    But when it comes to business and PDA properties, the N900 will be the winner for sure. There are almost as many apps as in the normal PC, and the internet browsing and messaging are better in the Nokia.

    Sorry for my bad english, I’m from Finland.(And that does not mean that I’m a Nokia fanboy:D)

  • Rex says:

    Why, what’s wrong with the multimedia on the N900? It can play back any format of video and you’re free to develop/download codecs for those that aren’t available. It has OpenGL based hardware acceleration for video and a pretty excellent music player as well.

  • ionsson says:

    Some iphonies claim they can multitask,
    running a couple of apps is not multitasking it’s maybe minitasking. I’m talking about downloading a divx dvdrip to watch later without any convertion, while listening to Jabber(internet radio) and playing a game, then you pause your game because your friend send you a IM or Emails, he want you to check out this funny video on the web, so you open you web browser and right before the funny part of the video your girlfriend call so you answer, it turn out she is free for the rest of the day, so you open your contact make a couple of reservations, and voila you go back to seeing the funny part right were you left off.

    Do you know why you can’t multitasking?
    Well allow me to illustrate you why, it’s simple we are in the midst of a new decade where your hardware and OS will be outdated, no longer fit to compete with the next generation of smartphones. and no matter how jailedbroken your iphony is, it’s hardware will just trembles by the mere thought of true multitasking.
