Nokia N900 has been getting a lot of buzz weeks before Nokia World 2009. Mobile-Review posted pics and specs last week and yday we saw a official press shot being leaked . But today the N900 just got an official announcement as Nokia continues to bombard us with press releases. The phone runs Maemo Linux and you know what the device looks really promising – We would even give it the title of the Best Nokia Phone Ever by simply looking at the specs.
Nokia has had tablets in the past but the hardware was a joke. And it was just a lame internet tablet – N810, N800 , 770 etc. But N900 has a SIM Card slot which means that you can use it as a phone as well. The Nokia N900 is powered by powerful ARM 600 MHz CPU and features up to 1GB of application memory and sports a OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics Engine acceleration.

It’s good that Nokia is shying away from symbian now. But then i wouldn’t be caught dead having this huge device as a PHONE.
Works fine as a tablet.
Well , Symbian is OK for most users. But Nokia needs a premium offering to advanced users and Maemo looks like its best bet !
Can’t wait to check out this phone at Nokia World
@varun – having used the device, i can say; get ready for an all new experience

its is so gr8 to see !!
@Varun — I am bitterly disappointed to learn that Nokia ‘may’ not launch this device in India. I sure think devices like this have a market in India so it just wouldn’t make sense if Nokia decides against launching this device here. I am also concerned about various manufacturers thinking so much before launching their devices in India (case in point being Apple’s decision to delay the iPhone 3GS’ India launch). India has a market for premium phones and there is no reason to think twice before launching any premium phone such as the Nokia N900 or the iPhone.
Is it a open source code phone?
