Most people have discussions over the type of touchscreen. Some say resistive is better while others say capacitive is better. But overall capacitive seems to win.

But there are other factors to be considered such as the cost of production which is higher for capacitive screens and the accuracy which is better in resistive screens.

Well now, Blackberry/RIM (Research in Motion) has created a new hybrid touchscreen for their devices and they have patented it.

The touchscreen incorporates both capacitive as well as resistive touch sensors. This way, you will be able to get the finger touch of capacitive screens and the accuracy of resistive screens.
