Last week, O2 a UK based carrier said that Apple was due to roll out a new firmware update for the Apple iPhone in the coming weeks. Well now O2’s prediction has come right. Apple released the iPhone 3.0.1 OS Update on iTunes. The update was released a day before earlier predicted.

The update solves the iPhone SMS Vulnerability problem. The update is 280MB in size and is available on iTunes. The supported models include Apple iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
